□ Name: Crona (and Ragnarok)
□ Journal: blackblooded
□ Series: Soul Eater (anime)
□ Canon point: Post-series
□ History: http://souleater.wikia.com/wiki/Crona (anime-only for history) Content warning for child abuse.
□ Personality:
Note: Crona shares a body with another entity (Ragnarok). For sake of completeness, I'm including Ragnarok's personality here as well, but he will be limited to being a voice in Crona's head unless his powers are restored. More complete information about their connection is in the powers section.
With Crona, what you see is not what you get. The teenager is outwardly very uncomfortable with people, even shy. Crona will be the first to tell you that interacting with people is difficult, and that Crona really doesn't have any experience with it. Crona is the poster child for awkward.
Most of this has to do with Crona's upbringing. Crona was the subject of some rather horrific abuse at the hands of Lady Medusa (Crona's mother, and the person solely responsible for Crona's upbringing). Essentially, Medusa wanted to create a new demon god of fear and thought that Crona-and-Ragnarok would be ideal for the position. So Crona's upbringing was an absolutely terrifying experience, designed to break the child down into an irrational, uncontrollable creature who was only interested in killing others in an attempt to get rid of their own fear (if no one alive is stronger than you, you're safe from everyone). And to some extent, Medusa was successful. Crona grew up awkward and scared, uncomfortable with trusting anyone or letting anyone close. Really, Crona grew up afraid of love, afraid of affection, terrified of letting anyone close because closeness had always meant pain. Crona just didn't know how to deal with any positive interaction at all.
But Medusa wasn't entirely successful. Crona was just too stubborn for that. Crona was incredibly stubborn. Stubborn enough to refuse to break the way Medusa wanted, or as much as Medusa wanted. Essentially, Crona was uncontrollable and unstable, obedient but constantly questioning. Crona didn't know any other way to live, and so Crona didn't actively try to escape, but when the potential for a better life was offered, Crona took it.
Once Crona was freed from Medusa, and allowed to develop as a person outside of Medusa's framework of "kill everyone and get stronger", the teen started showing a few significant traits beyond "unstable" and "stubborn". Crona is shy and awkward, wanting to fit in and not knowing exactly how to do that. This results in a lot of Crona following people around, trying lots of things that they suggest in an attempt to fit in. Lots of writing poetry (really horrifying poetry that depressed all Crona's friends and made a zombie regret ever coming back to life) and wearing inadvisable clothing. Crona also becomes determined to never hurt anyone again (though it's more a case of "never hurting anyone who doesn't deserve it") no matter what the personal cost. Crona is loyal to friends and determined to make sure that nothing bad happens to them, to the point of being willing to die for them.
In general, Crona is sheltered, awkward with other people, overwhelmingly stubborn, and prone to instability and violence, but also kind, loyal, and willing to do whatever is necessary to protect important people.
Ragnarok, on the other hand, is completely different. Ragnarok's personality won't come up much in Ariel, since because of power limitations he'll be restricted to just a voice in Crona's head. But he and Crona have grown up together, so he's been a huge influence on Crona's life. While Crona constantly stood up to Medusa, Ragnarok accepted it. He enjoyed killing, and did his very best to bully Crona into it. Ragnarok is loud, violent, and not overly intelligent. He's greedy, and selfish, and essentially everything that Crona's not. Their relationship is more one of necessity than actual friendship, and they tend to argue about everything.
□ Age: ~15
□ Gender: The series made a point of not stating Crona's sex or gender, and I will be playing Crona as female-bodied and gender is basically just ???
□ Appearance: http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130603220941/villains/images/b/b7/Crona.jpg
Crona is a thin, extremely androgynous teenager with pale skin and purple/pink hair. Crona is slightly on the tall side of average, and dresses in a black, ankle length robe with white accents on the cuffs and collar, and wears matching black and white boots. Crona's eye color alternates between black and very pale blue (possibly having something to do with power usage, though it's pretty random).
Crona's appearance is androgynous to the point that Crona's physical sex is a complete unknown. It's not so much that Crona has a gender neutral appearance as that Crona's kind of a mixed bag of characteristics. Feminine: facial features, hips, standard outfit. Masculine: chest, outfits other than standard. Neutral: voice, general presentation.
Crona's blood is black.
□ Abilities/Powers: Crona and Ragnarok have a very unusual way of sharing a body, which I'm going to discuss in a bit more detail here. When Crona was a very young child (probably an infant) all of Crona's blood was removed. At about the same time (or slightly before) a Demon Weapon (a person who could physically transform into a weapon) named Ragnarok was magically melted down into a substance known as Black Blood. The Black Blood (with Ragnarok's powers and consciousness still intact) was injected into Crona, effectively replacing the child's own blood. The result was two completely separate entities forced to coexist in order to survive. Without Ragnarok, Crona would have no blood, and without Crona, Ragnarok would just be a puddle.
Despite the magic involved in their physical reliance on each other, neither can control the other's body or directly influence their actions. Because of power limitations in game, Ragnarok will be confined to just being a voice in Crona's head for now.
Crona has limited soul perception, which is a common power in Crona's world. Essentially Crona can see a person's soul, picking up on things like personality traits, species, and other identifying features. The main thing that soul perception allows Crona to do is track and identify an individual. Crona and Ragnarok (technically, anyone with proper training) can use soul resonance, which involves two (or more) individuals linking their souls together in a way that increases their fighting ability and powers.
Crona is also an extremely skilled fighter, specifically with a sword. However, Crona's fighting style heavily utilizes Ragnarok's abilities, and so will be more dangerous to Crona than to anyone that Crona might fight.
Ragnarok has two primary sets of abilities. First, his abilities as a weapon. In Soul Eater, there are people who can transform into living weapons. Ragnarok is one of those people, with a sword for a weapon form except his human form is melted down into black blood. So instead of having a human form and a weapon form, he has a blood form and a weapon form.
He also has some limited sonic abilities. In sword form he can vibrate his blade to increase the tearing power. When Crona and Ragnarok initiate soul resonance, they can use a variety of sonic-based attacks in both short and long range, that mostly involve launching a wall of solid sound at an opponent.
Ragnarok's black blood abilities are a bit more flexible than his weapon abilities. Essentially, he has the ability to completely manipulate his form in whatever way he chooses. This ranges from blocking attacks by turning solid underneath Crona's skin to growing giant wings made of blood from Crona's back. Even blood splatters and droplets can be controlled and manipulated into needles, and he can also levitate those droplets and make them float around.
□ Personal Items: Clothing (ankle length black robe with white trim, boots, no underwear). A picture of Crona and Maka. That's it.
